Dress for the day’s forecast, bringing a hat, sunglasses, or a light jacket as needed. We’ll provide chest waders for the experience; simply wear socks and comfortable shorts or leggings underneath. As space on board is limited, we kindly ask that you leave bulky bags in your car.

Yes, the tour is open to guests aged 12 years and older who are able to confidently follow safety instructions while wearing waders. If you’re unsure about sizing or have any questions, we’re always happy to help — just give us a call.

We monitor the forecast and water-quality alerts closely. If conditions are deemed unsafe — such as strong winds, lightning, heavy rain, or a harvest closure — we will offer you the choice of a free reschedule, a full refund, or credit towards a future booking. Light showers rarely hold us back, but we recommend packing a waterproof jacket just in case.

Guests need to be able to step on and off the boat and move independently through shallow water. Unfortunately, due to the natural terrain and the layout of the vessel, we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers, or mobility aids. If you have specific mobility concerns, we encourage you to call us — we’ll do our best to assist.

Not at all. Our experienced farmer-guides will shuck oysters fresh for you while sharing the stories and techniques behind the craft. If you’d like to try your hand at it, we’re more than happy to coach you through your first shuck — completely optional, of course.

The on-water experience runs for approximately one hour and thirty minutes. Including time for fitting your waders and returning to the wharf, we recommend allowing just over two hours in total.

Absolutely. Digital gift vouchers are available online and can be emailed instantly or scheduled to arrive on a future date. The lucky recipient can then choose any available tour date that suits them.

All tours depart from and return to the Merimbula Lake public wharf. Full details, including an exact map pin and parking tips, will be provided in your confirmation email. Simply look for the Merimbula Oyster Tours sign and our welcoming team ready with your waders.

We’re always happy to help. Simply call or email us.
